Dear Kim

By Preggers Can Be Choosers

Dear Kim,

I’ve been thinking about your chronic BV, and how you told me boric acid was the thing that has helped the most.

I first heard about if from Lisa Goldstein, a fabulous Appalachian midwife, and she actually sells boric acid suppositories here,  so that’s an easy buy. She recommends it for candida or yeast infections.

I then researched what quality of boric acid, and came across  a bunch of confusion on boric acid vs borax, and Crunchy Betty lays it out in this article:

“Borax is not boric acid.

That’s where the majority of the online confusion appears. With no surprise; at least half of the studies I’ve found and citations I’ve read have listed their testing matter as “either sodium borate or boric acid.”

The difference between the two is: Boric acid is produced when borax is reacted with another acid (like sulfuric or hydrochloric acid). The result is an acid structure (pH of 5.0), rather than alkaline, as borax is (9.3 pH). (I’m not going to get into the “is boric acid safe or not” question here, because that’s a whole ‘nother can of worms.)”

So, what level Boric Acid is safe? Cause this Vice author used straight up roach killer, which is the technical grade, and not the medical / pharmaceutical grade which is what I’m going to recommend.

You for sure want to use medical grade or pharmacy grade. The label should look like this.

Boric Acid NF/USP Grade, Powder

Yes, it’s more expensive, but we are using it on the good china if you get me, and that takes way more to repair and fix so we are gonna be proactive and take care of it upfront.

Other recommendations are to avoid sugar and carby foods, up your water intake, and get some vitamin D on your face by way of nature and sunshine.

The How-To Section:

Get your goodies together on a large tray, and with clean washed hands follow directions on encapsulator.

Directions For Use:

Use when you feel an infection coming on, one capsule at night inserted into  vagina, wear your undies with a cloth liner, or something that will be non-irritating if some of the powder escapes.  If needed, you can use them 3 nights in a row.  For chronic infections use for up to 2 weeks, 1 capsule into vagina at night.

After that one use on the reg when you feel an infection coming on, or if you know you get one with your period, do a treatment a couple of days beforehand.

My herbal grandmother Annikae always encouraged me to listen to my body, to understand and listen so that I would know what my body needed. I want you to do the same. Keep track of when you do your boric acid suppussitory, when you do your Arvigo treatments, and when you got down. Lets track health and activity, so you can see patterns and where you can take charge of your health and its response to treatments.

Hope this helps!

XO,

Rowan

PS. lay off the sugar. It feeds the yeast beasties. And cotton panties are best!

PPS. if you don’t want to make your own, I got you. I made a bunch, extra to sell

PPSS. YOU GUYS!!!

Kim came over and said, so, was the letter to me? Cause the problem is chronic yeast infections, not BV.

I’m dead.
